I Scrapped!

It's been a while since I worked on a layout. But last night, I managed to finished two LOs for my daughter's second birthday. Yeah, yeah, it's a long overdue LO which I should have done last year! but I been hit with laziness. lol!

Anyway, as I was saying, I was able to finish the layouts using templates. Yes, I can work on layered templates now. Before templates do not appeal to me since I'm ignoramus in using them. Thanks to Misty Cato's tutorial on working on templates. It's a big big help! And since I already know how to work on templates, I searched the net for free templates, and I'm blessed to have found Yin's Site. She's got an amazing site, with lots of free templates that you can download and use.

Here's one that I just did a few minutes ago...

I used, Yin's Template #15 and followed Misty Cato's tutorial. It did wonders! Now I'm ready to create my daughter's photobook.

New Look...

...And how do you find it?

I finally decided to shift from a pinkish template to a blue one. I tweaked here and there and here's the result. I feel my old template is somewhat dull. Now this one excites me to write more post. Thanks to the designer of this template. By the way, I got this template here. You can check it out for more designs.

A nice-and-neat-pleasant-looking site can help give you inspiration, that's what I found out. So I hope this new look will help me become more inspired to write on a regular basis.

Personalized T-Shirt Printers

I'm loving Multiply sellers now. I came across various multiply sites today when I was looking for a customized t-shirt printer. And so far my fave is artsnstyle (thanks Jacque for the referral!).

I've given Tin (the seller) my design and will email her tomorrow the sizes I'll order. I 'm excited. I want us to wear these shirts when hubby comes home next month. Oh, I'll just post the picture of my own design when it's already printed.

If you're looking for customized t-shirt printer, you can go check artsnstyle for family tees and tubbytees for baby tees :)

Enjoy!

A great option for peole like me

We recently had our annual physical exam for our company’s HMO. We had series of physical exam and as expected, my BMI is still not normal…still underweight so I need to eat plenty and take vitamin supplements. But the good news is my eye grade lowered so I need to replace my glasses. Of course they are tied up with an optical shop who also offered me their frames and lenses. Honestly, their complete eye wear can cost me a month’s rent. Even if they offer it for four gives through salary deduction, still it will cost me much. So I just asked a copy of my eye exam result and prescription so I can choose where to buy. I know there are a lot of stores our there who offers complete eyeglasses at a minimal cost. Like this one…

3391 Two Tone Plastic Full-Rim Frame with Incised Pattern on Temples

This chic pair will just cost me $8! It’s already a complete eyeglasses with free UV protection and anti-scratch coating, and where else but at Zenni Optical. Zenni Optical is best known for their very affordable yet high quality and stylish prescription eye glasses. They have a wide array of stylish eyeglasses for everyone and even the New York Times mentioned them as one of the option for cheap pair of eyeglasses on their January 23, 2009 issue. That only proves that Zenni Optical is really an option for people who would want to have a great pair of eyeglasses that won’t ripped off their pockets. :)

It's The Month of Hearts!

Valentine's Day is coming and I am not interested (just like last year)....

...Because I don't have somebody to celebrate it with. It's the 2nd year that I won't be celebrating it with my husband. So roses, chocolates, and valentine gifts do not appeal to me. :D

Why do we celebrate valentines day? I found the history here.

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day — and its patron saint — is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Elf Yourself

Want to laugh? My sister sent me a video of her family dressed in elf clothes and disco dancing. It was hilarious! She made it thru elfyourself. I tried it using my daughter's picture. I had a good laugh.

At elfyourself, you can upload your picture and the site will create an elf using your face. like this...

Then the program will make the elf with your face dance. it's so funny. You can also choose to download the file and burn it in a DVD (with a minimal amount of $4) or send them to your friends through email.

Try it and enjoy!

Goodbye 2008, hello 2009!

Happy New Year Everyone!

And so we bid goodbye to 2008 and says hello to 2009. And with that I believe most of you are into making or "editing" your new year resolutions.

As for me I don't make new year resolutions. But to those of you who already made one, here's a site that will help you keep on track.

I learned about this when I was listening to my fave radio station and they suggested this site. Hiaspire.com.

Because we tend to forget about the promises ang goals we set during the new year, we need something to constantly remind us of those new year resolutions. Hiaspire will remind you of your resolutions through email. With that you can be sure that you'll be able to achieved your goals and met your resolutions throughout the year.

Lastly, let's thank God for His goodness during 2008 and let's continue to hope and pray for a blessed 2009 ahead of us.

Something for hubby

I miss giving Christmas gifts for my husband. This year, it will be the second Christmas that we’re celebrating separately. I miss thinking of what to give him and thinking of a gimmick on how to surprise him. I remember two years ago how happy he was when he opened my gift to him. He was so surprised. I wish we’ll be able to celebrate Christmas again together.

If he’s here, he’ll probably like Timberland Boots. I can remember how he fancied boots like this when he was still here. He likes shoes where he can use everywhere, anywhere so I guess this is one the best. The brand is known for its quality and durability and designed to be used not only for heavy work but also an all-weather outdoor wear.

Hubby will definitely like this one. I hope I can get one before he arrives next year.

Some musings

When her family migrated to Canada two years ago, my friend and sort of aunt had a hard time searching for our other friends and church mates who went there years before them. I was able to contact her to a social network website and she said that she’s thankful that there’s now a reverse phone number look up Canada which made her search for contacts quite easy. She said that now they will be organizing an event where all of them will be able to celebrate Christmas together. Well, that’s good for them.

My husband wants to work as well in Canada or perhaps migrate there since a lot of our friends are already there. But I don't like the idea. I don't want to leave the country in search for a good future. I love my country and I'm happy here.

Well, just some of my thoughts...

Looking for Someone?

I never tried using the People Finder feature provided by my mobile phone network. Honestly, I don’t have an idea how it works. I thought it was use when someone is lost somewhere and the other person will try to find his exact location. Is that it?

Anyway, here’s an online service that will help people find people. Whether a love one, long lost friend, or classmates you’ve lost contact with, you can try to find them at peoplelocatorserivces.com. You just have to type the name of the person you’re looking for and the website will give you instant results. Once again, life’s made easier .
